BIODEGRADABLE PRODUCTS

Biodegradable polymers are plastics that can be broken down by living organisms, usually microbes, into water, carbon dioxide, sunlight and biomass.

Bioplastics are usually made from sugar derivatives, including starch, cellulose and lactic acid. Common plastics, such as fossil fuel plastics (also called petroleum polymers), are derived from oil or natural gas.

The new biopolymer was developed to replace polyethylene, which is a petroleum product and used to make traditional plastic bags, garbage bags, plastic wrap, and more.

The products we offer are certified by independent international organizations according to the European standard EN 13432.

Moreover, obtaining these certificates is essential to be able to market the products as biodegradable / compostable. Certificates accrediting the advertised products are mandatory.

Products made from the bio-polymers may require between four and fourteen months to decompose, depending on the level of compostability.
